MAIN CAMERA:
This has been my main camera for over two years now. Beautifully built for both photography and video, the A7iii is a compact full-frame mirrorless camera that delivers versatility for photography. The A7iii works marvels while photographing landscapes, and with its fantastic low light capabilities, it is the perfect choice for night street and sky photography. I love this camera for its durability and versatility. I’ve used the A7iii in extreme temperatures ranging from -40 degrees Celsius up to +38 degrees and it still hasn't failed me (fingers crossed).
Here are the main specs:
24.2 MP5 35 mm full-frame CMOS sensor with back-illuminated design
5-Axis SteadyShot INSIDE Image Stabilization
4K HDR3 4 movie recording capability
Fast Hybrid Auto Focus with 693 phase-detection and 425 contrast-detection AF points
Incredible low light performance Sensitivity range up to ISO 51200 (expandable to ISO 50-204800 for stills)
High-speed continuous shooting of up to 10fps2 with AF/AE tracking
LENSES:
My favorite overall lens and the one I use 80% of the time while photographing people, street photography, and sometimes even landscapes. The 85mm lens is a must-have in any photographer’s arsenal. The shallow depth of field it delivers while shooting people gives your images a distinctly professional look. The 85mm is known to accurately photograph the human face without any distortion. This lens gives you a beautiful compression that produces crisp Bokeh balls for night portraits or urban photography.
The versatility lens - this lens can be used for almost anything; portraits, landscapes, street, product photography. In terms of composition, the 35mm lens is the closest to the focal composition of the human eye. This is the perfect prime lens for beginners because of its versatility but it’s also the perfect bridge between the wide-angle lenses and the standard lenses like the 50mm.
The landscape lens - The relatively cheap wide-angle lens I use primarily for landscape photography. It is brilliantly light and sharp for the price point. Wide-angle lenses help to capture more elements of the environment around you thus its perfect for landscapes as well as video work.
The nifty fifty - This is the cheapest lens from Canon, it is incredibly sharp as well as showcasing excellent image quality, build quality, and usability. This was the first prime lens I ever owned because of its price and I can confidently say that this lens led me to fall in love with photography. The focal length gives your images a professional feel as well as providing a stunningly shallow depth of field.
SECOND CAMERA:
My backup photography and video camera. I love using this camera for video because the screen tilts forward and it allows me to see myself while filming. This is a great photography starter camera at an affordable price for the punch that it brings. Though compact DSLR doesn’t use a Full-Frame sensor or nearly as much of the features as my main camera, I still love using this camera occasionally for photography because I’ve come to really appreciate the Canon color science.
